Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s “Chime” and Riho Kudo’s “August My Heaven” join as Berlinale Special entries, while Brandt Andersen’s “The Strangers’ Case” secures a spot as a Berlinale Special Gala.
In “Chime,” Tashiro, a culinary school student, grapples with mysterious voices in his head, leading to a revelation about a machine replacing half of his brain. Meanwhile, “August My Heaven” explores the life of Joe, a professional stand-in actor whose worlds collide after an encounter at a funeral.
