LONDON, Feb 13 (ZIZ): Today, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) unveiled the list of nominees and guest presenters slated to attend the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards, taking place on Sunday, February 18. David Tennant will make his debut as the host, and the ceremony will be broadcasted on BBC One and iPlayer globally from 19:00-21:00 (GMT).
Emma Baehr, BAFTA’s Executive Director of Awards & Content, expressed gratitude for the nominees and their contributions to the film industry. With Tennant as the host and performances by Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Hannah Waddingham, Baehr expects an engaging evening at the Royal Festival Hall for attendees and viewers worldwide.
Among the confirmed attendees are notable figures from various aspects of the film industry, including directors, producers, and actors, representing outstanding work across 38 remarkable films. Noteworthy names such as Carey Mulligan, Christopher Nolan, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie, and Robert Downey Jr. are expected to attend.
A distinguished lineup of presenters, including Adjoa Andoh and Cate Blanchett, will present awards to deserving winners, adding to the anticipation of the event.
Special recognition will be given through two awards: the BAFTA Fellowship, honoring Samantha Morton for her exceptional contributions, and the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award, recognizing June Givanni for her pioneering work in African and African diaspora cinema.
In addition to the awards and presentations, musical performances by Hannah Waddingham and Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be featured during the ceremony.
Taking place at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, the event promises an evening of entertainment. The red carpet affair, hosted by Clara Amfo and Alex Zane, will be broadcasted live on BAFTA’s social media channels, providing exclusive coverage of the arrivals.
