Madrid, Spain – November 15, 2023: The short film “CCTV,” directed by Samira Karimi and penned by Hassan Najmabad, has clinched a spot at the LesGaiCineMad, Madrid LGBTI+ International Film Festival, an event sanctioned by Spain’s acclaimed Goya Awards.

Since its inception in 1996, LesGaiCineMad has drawn an estimated 14,000 attendees annually, showcasing over 120 films and attracting worldwide industry figures and filmmakers. The festival, renowned as Madrid’s paramount cinematic event, stands as a beacon among LGBTI+ Film Festivals in Spanish-speaking territories.

Recognized as a Goya Awards-qualifying event, this festival annually spotlights exceptional short films.

Set to unfold from November 16th to 26th in Madrid, the 28th edition of this festival presents “CCTV,” a portrayal of the challenges faced by two high school girls in navigating school life.

Before this achievement, “CCTV” had gained traction at the 33rd Melbourne Queer Film Festival in Australia, affirming its international footprint.
