Berlin and Beijing– November 2, 2023: The Iranian short film “CCTV,” directed by Samira Karimi, has been selected for screening at two international film festivals: the 16th KUKI International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth in Germany and the 16th Beijing Queer Film Festival in China.

The Kuki Festival, which forms an integral part of the interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival, is renowned for its dedication to showcasing films designed for young audiences. Every year, the festival curates a diverse selection of films from across the globe and also provides educational workshops to nurture emerging talent in the field of cinema.  The 16th Kuki Festival is slated to be held from November 12 to 19, 2023, in Berlin, Germany.

Simultaneously, the Beijing Queer Film Festival, an established cinematic platform dating back to 2001, focuses on a wide range of genres, including narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental films. The 16th Beijing Queer Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 3 to 12, 2023, in Beijing, China.

“CCTV” tells a poignant story of two high school girls as they grapple with the complex challenges of school life. The film has previously garnered attention at the 33rd Melbourne Queer Film Festival in Australia.
