Carry le Rouet (France),  Napoli (Itay), Zalla (Spain) — November 9, 2023: The short film “Suitcase,” a poignant tale of loss and displacement directed by Ako Zendkarimi and Saman Hosseinpour, has garnered special recognition at the 9th Festival de Court Métrage de la Cote Bleue in France and clinched the Best Film award at the 9th Fausto Rossano Festival in Italy.

The Festival de Court Métrage de la Cote Bleue (FCMCB), dedicated to showcasing works by filmmakers under thirty, witnessed the heartfelt narrative of “Suitcase” receiving special recognition from the jury during its 9th edition held at the Kri-Le-Roue Beach Cinema Center in southern France from October 13 to 15, 2023.

The Fausto Rossano Festival, committed to exploring themes of prejudice and psychological suffering through the lens of cinema, praised “Suitcase” for its profound exploration of loss. The jury’s statement described the film as a poignant journey that weaves a subtle thread of absence from start to finish, offering a poetic representation illuminated through gestures, movements, perspectives, and cinematography.

Next on “Suitcase’s” journey is the 42nd Encarzine Festival in Spain from November 20 to 25, 2023, and the 22nd Beijing Student Film Festival in China from November 17 to 24, 2023. The film continues to captivate audiences globally, delving into the complex emotions surrounding loss, displacement, and the enduring connection between past, present, and the apprehensions of the future.

“Suitcase” narrates the compelling story of an immigrant man facing the recurrent loss of his homeland, resonating with audiences across various international film festivals.
