The ceremony, slated for February 20, 2024, at the Berlinale Palast, will recognize Scorsese’s profound contribution to the film industry.

Renowned for his unparalleled ability to craft stories that resonate both personally and universally, Martin Scorsese stands as an unmatched paragon for those who perceive cinema as an art form. His cinematic creations have seamlessly interwoven into the fabric of our history, infusing life into characters that have resonated deeply within audiences. The festival’s directorial duo, Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian, expressed their admiration for Scorsese’s latest masterpiece, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” acknowledging its portrayal of the Osage community’s harrowing ordeal and its potential to offer solace. They warmly welcome the esteemed filmmaker, a longtime friend of the festival, to bestow upon him the esteemed Honorary Golden Bear.
