BERLIN, Dec 4 (ZIZ): The countdown to the prestigious European Film Awards has begun, with only a few days remaining until the grand event on December 9th, 2023. This highly anticipated celebration of European cinema will take place at the Arena Berlin, welcoming a gathering of 1,000 esteemed international guests and honoring 75 nominees across 24 diverse categories.

The evening promises a spectacle as the European Film Awards recognize and applaud the outstanding accomplishments within the realm of European filmmaking. The gala, commencing at 19:30 CET, will witness the presentation of coveted awards streamed live by 30 partners across 21 European countries. A star-studded lineup awaits attendees, with esteemed personalities gracing the stage to present various categories. Notable names include Serbian actress Branka Katić, Slovakian-Hungarian actress Alexandra Borbély, French actor Lambert Wilson, Syrian actor Jalal Altawil, Senegalese actor Seydou Sarr, among others, adding glamour to the occasion.

Guiding the evening’s proceedings will be the skilled German journalist and actress, Britta Steffenhagen, ensuring a smooth and captivating experience for all. Adding to the allure, the show will feature a captivating performance by Philipp Johann Thimm, a Grammy-nominee recognized for his prowess as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer. Accompanying him will be the Berlin Strings ensemble, known for their mastery in collaborations with both pop and indie musicians and creating evocative cinematic compositions.

The roster of nominees includes a diverse array of talents, such as German actress Leonie Benesch, Italian director Matteo Garrone, British director Jonathan Glazer, and Polish director Agnieszka Holland, among others. Noteworthy winners of specific categories have already been unveiled and will grace the event, including names like Spanish filmmaker Isabel Coixet, British actress Vanessa Redgrave, and Turkish entrepreneur Güler Sabancı.
