Prior to being selected for the EnergaCamerimage Film Festival 2023, "Mrs. Iran's Husband" directed by Marjan Khosravi received recognition at the 30th Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Short Documentary and secured a place in the 2024 Oscars.

Toruń, Poland – November 2, 2023: The documentary film “Mrs. Iran’s Husband,” directed by Marjan Khosravi and filmed by Mehdi Azadi, has been officially selected to participate in the prestigious EnergaCamerimage Film Festival. This festival is globally recognized as a leading platform for cinematography and is known for showcasing outstanding documentaries. In its Documentary  Special screenings section, the festival will feature 19 remarkable documentary films.

Mehdi Azadi, the cinematographer for “Mrs. Iran’s Husband,” has a distinguished track record in the field. He is a member of the Iranian Society of Cinematographers (IRSC) and was honored with the Golden Frog award for Best Documentary Cinematography at the same festival in 2020. His expertise and contribution to this documentary have played a significant role in its selection for the festival.

The 31st EnergaCamerimage Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 18, 2023, in Poland.

“Mrs. Iran’s Husband” draws its narrative inspiration from Ali Mohammad Afghani’s novel, “Ahu Khanom’s Husband.” The documentary delves into the lives of a Bakhtiari tribal family, offering a unique perspective on their experiences and culture. Prior to being selected for the EnergaCamerimage Film Festival, this documentary received recognition at the 30th Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Short Documentary and secured a place in the 2024 Oscars.
