Paris, September 27, 2023* – On Wednesday, September 27, the Short Film Committees of the Academy of Arts and Techniques of Cinema gathered to establish the Official Selection for the 2024 César Awards in the Short Film Animation, Short Film Documentary, and Short Film Fiction categories.
Official Selection for Short Film Animation – César 2024
The members of the Short Film Animation Committee have selected the 12 short films that will compete for the Best Short Film Animation César in 2024:

Official Selection for Short Film Fiction – César 2024
For the first time, two fiction committees worked jointly to establish the list of short films competing for the Best Short Film Fiction César in 2024. The Artistic Committee, composed of Frédéric Baillehaiche, Irène Drésel, Louis Garrel, Guslagie Malanda, Dominik Moll, and Pierre Salvadori, met to select 24 short films from a list compiled by a committee of experts consisting of short film professionals. The selected films are as follows:

These three selections will be showcased on the César 2024 Viewing Platform, allowing Academy voting members to watch or revisit the eligible films of the year to assist in their decision-making process.
The first voting round, which opens on Tuesday, January 2, will determine the 3 films nominated for the Best Short Film Animation César 2024, the 3 films nominated for the Best Short Film Documentary César 2024, and the 4 films nominated for the Best Short Film Fiction César. The nominations will be revealed during the Nomination Announcement on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
